Halfway Down the Rabbit Hole

5.25.2004

It seems that Paul Martin (mr P.M) has just called an election...Funny thing is it's taking place in about a month; our neighbours to the south have an 8-month (possibly longer) election campaign going on between the democrats (headed by John Kerry), and the Republicans (headed by George dubya (W.) Bush. This almost seems like a Deja Vu. At the beginning of Bush's term..while they were still deciding whether or not Bush or Gore had one, there was a recount in florida, headed by Gov. Jeb Bush. While that was happening we had our election quick and easy and Jean Chretien was re-elected. A couple years later, he resigned, giving up the P.M position to Paul Martin.
This election, Paul Martin is against the leader of the party formerly known as the Conservatories and the Canadian Alliance. Both of the aforementioned parties merged to form the New Conservative Party of something to that effect. Their leader is Stephen Harper. So who to vote for? I don't know, but K-Town itself has been known for being largely Liberal (Martin, McGuinty, Milliken) in its voting pattern despite hearing others vote for alternatives.

It seems no matter where you go you are met with politics; everything seems to have its own set of politics and it gets really ugly really soon. It seems to divide most of the crowd into two areas, those who are willing to trudge through the swamp until they reach, the end and those that climb a tree and look for a way to swing their way out of it. While others seem content to stay in the mud as long as they don't drown in it.
